Robert Altman's deft hand at the helm made this 1980 film a classic. Based on E.C. Segar's comic strip, Popeye stars Robin Williams as the super-strong, spinach-scarfing sailor man. During a storm that wrecks his ship, Popeye washes ashore and winds up rooming at the Oyl household, where he meets Olive (Shelley Duvall). Before he can win her heart, he must first contend with Olive's fiancé, Captain Bluto (Paul Smith).
