Liam (Martin Compston) is a Scottish teen living in a dismal shipyard town and awaiting the release of his unjustly imprisoned mother. Determined to buy a decent home for his mom, Liam sets out to raise money -- but some of his crazy schemes get him in big trouble. William Ruane, Annmarie Fulton and Michelle Abercromby also star in this heart wrenching coming-of-age drama directed by Ken Loach. The film won the Best Screenplay award at Cannes.
