|
Described as a "dramatic documentary," this film -- directed by Paul Cox and based on The Diary of Vaslav Nijinksy, published in an English translation in 1999 -- tells the story of Russian ballet dancer Vaslav Nijinsky's life through his own words (narrated by Derek Jacobi), reenactments of some of his dances and related imagery. Nijinsky's legendary career was ended abruptly in the 1910s because of acute schizophrenia.
