Unscrupulous Bel-Air millionaire (Danny DeVito) plans to murder his shrewish wife (Bette Midler). But when he arrives home to do the deed, he finds she's been kidnapped. The kidnappers (Judge Reinhold and Helen Slater) ask for $500,000 in ransom or they'll kill her. DeVito, naturally, is ecstatic. It may well be the perfect crime and the answer to all his prayers.
