During World War I, British-born Lili Schmidt (Julie Andrews) agrees to spy for the Germans but soon falls in love with the enemy, the dashing Maj. William Larrabee (Rock Hudson), an American flyboy. Blending comedy, drama and thrills, Andrews's husband, director Blake Edwards, puts a nice spin on the Mata Hari legend with a screenplay by William Peter Blatty (who would go on to write The Exorcist). Jeremy Kemp and Lance Percival co-star.
