Happily wed Teddy Pierce (Gene Wilder, who also directed) always plays it safe -- that is, until he spies knockout, clad-in-crimson model Charlotte (Kelly LeBrock). Surrendering to his middle-age fantasy, Teddy puts his marriage and career on the line to pursue the statuesque Charlotte but soon learns that seemingly simple affairs are never simple. This bittersweet bedroom comedy scored an Oscar for Best Song ("I Just Called to Say I Love You").
