Two young filmmakers (Mos Def and John Livingston) decide to follow private investigator Joe Boone (Miguel Ferrer) on their next project. When Joe's partner quits, his biographers continue to make their movie and begin to help him with his investigations. But after Joe's former co-worker turns up dead, the film focuses on finding his murderer. This irreverent mockumentary from director Daniel Pyne is a salute to classic detective dramas.
