It's the year 2020, and man has successfully landed on Mars. But something goes awry, and all contact with the mission and its commander (Don Cheadle) is lost. NASA hurriedly prepares and launches a rescue mission copiloted by Commander Woody Blake (Tim Robbins) and Jim McConnell (Gary Sinise). What they find when they get there and attempt to unravel the red planet's mysteries is beyond all imagination.
