Cooley High

  (1975)
Often called "the black American Graffiti," this film follows aspiring writer Preach (Glynn Turman) and basketball star Cochise (Lawrence-Hilton Jacobs) as they drift through their classes and wander around their Chicago neighborhood in the 1960s, pulling pranks and trying to enjoy life in an impoverished urban environment.
