Review Guidelines and Terms

Here are several tips for writing a useful Netflix movie review:

  • Submit only 1 review per movie.
  • Provide details to support why you enjoyed or disliked the movie.
  • Don't spoil a plot by giving away endings or key plot developments.
  • Compare the movie to other similar movies.
  • Spell check your work -- members often disregard reviews with mistakes.

We reserve the right to edit and/or amend submitted reviews. Reviews should not contain:

  • Harsh, profane or discriminatory language
  • Illegal, obscene, threatening, defamatory or otherwise objectionable content
  • URLs, phone numbers, mailing or email addresses
  • One-word commentaries
  • Personal attacks on the movie's creative personnel
  • Misleading information regarding the origin of the content
  • Discussion of Netflix policies or services. Please see our Help Center.

Note: Report any reviews you think don't follow these guidelines to problemreview@netflix.com.

By submitting a review, you understand and are permitting that all information provided in your review will be posted on our Web site. Also, when you have reviewed two or more movies, we will display all or a subset of your movie ratings. We supply a pseudonym on your behalf so that this information is not personally identifiable. You always have the opportunity to update this automatic pseudonym with a pseudonym of your choice, or even supply your real name, but by doing so you are choosing to disclose your identity in connection with your reviews and ratings on our Web site. By submitting a review, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the Terms of Use of this feature.

All submitted reviews become property of Netflix.
