Gift Subscription Terms
- Gift Subscriptions are one-time transferable memberships. The gift purchaser ("Purchaser") must transfer the Gift Subscription to the gift recipient ("Recipient") within one (1) year after date of purchase.
- The Gift Subscription is transferred when the Recipient redeems the code shown on the Gift Subscription. When Recipient enters the code on the Netflix website (and, if not already a Netflix member, registers for the service), the Gift Subscription will be transferred to Recipient and redeemed for Recipient's use.
- Gift Subscriptions that are not transferred to a Recipient within one (1) year after date of purchase will, without further notice, commence on the day following the one (1) year anniversary date of purchase. Once the Gift Subscription commences, Netflix will notify Purchaser at the e-mail address associated with Purchaser's account with details on how to redeem the Gift Subscription for Purchaser's own use. Purchaser must notify Netflix of e-mail address changes at the "Your Account" button of the Netflix website. Netflix is not responsible for fulfilling any Gift Subscription if not timely redeemed by the Recipient or if Netflix is unable to reach the Purchaser. There are no refunds or other credit for unredeemed Gift Subscriptions.
- Access to Blu-ray is not included in the Gift Subscription price. As an added feature of the transferable membership, the Gift Subscription may be exchanged to add Blu-ray access and/or select another plan to be associated with the Gift Subscription. Exchanges in this manner, however, will likely alter the duration of the Gift Subscription. If such an exchange to the Gift Subscription is made, any remaining partial periods of the Gift Subscription ("Discount Period") will be provided as a discount credit to the next month's subscription payment.
- A valid payment method is required to redeem the membership and Recipient authorizes Netflix to charge for any movie Recipient fails to return after cancellation of the Netflix membership, as provided in the Netflix Terms of Use.
- Recipient's payment method will be authorized for a nominal amount each month during the Gift Subscription to assure Netflix has a valid payment method on file. In some instances, Recipient's available balance or credit limit may reflect the authorization; however, no charges will be made against the payment method unless Recipient does not cancel prior to the end of the Gift Subscription, fails to return a movie upon cancellation of the Netflix membership, or in connection with any Discount Period.
- At the end of the Gift Subscription, Recipient authorizes Netflix to automatically renew the membership and bill Recipient's payment method monthly for membership fees and applicable tax unless Recipient cancels prior to the end of the Gift Subscription. Although the membership is cancelable at anytime, there is no refund or credit for partially used periods. Recipient can click on the "Your Account" link for cancellation instructions. As a convenience, Netflix will notify Recipient two (2) weeks prior to billing Recipient's payment method and/or beginning automatically monthly billing. It is Recipient's responsibility to cancel the membership if Recipient does not wish to continue the membership past the end of the Gift Subscription.
- Netflix is not responsible for lost or stolen Gift Subscriptions, except as required by law.
- Gift Subscriptions are valid in the 50 United States and its territories and possessions only.
- Gift Subscriptions are not redeemable or refundable for cash, cannot be resold and cannot be combined with any other special or free offers, including other Gift Subscriptions and Gift Cards.
- Gift Subscriptions and their use are subject to the Netflix Terms of Use. Netflix reserves the right to change these Gift Subscription Terms and the Terms of Use from time to time in its sole discretion.
